ŁKS stands for Łódzki Klub Sportowy (Łódzki Sport Club). ŁKS is a Polish sport club based in Łódź, Poland. The club was founded in 1908 so recently it has celebrated 100 years anniversary. Our club is one of two biggest in Łódź. Currently there is mainly football and basketball in ŁKS but in the past there was many other disciplines as well. Our 1st football team is almost all the time playing in Extraklasa (First Division). In 2009/2010 season first team is not playing in First Divison due to some strange decisions in polish federation. Season 2008/2009 ŁKS has finished on 7th place in Extraklasa. ŁKS is one of the most important football clubs in Poland and 100 years of history, many well known players are a very good proof for this.
ŁKS was 2 times Champion of Poland. First time in 1956 and in the year of our birth 1998. After success in 1998 ŁKS has played in qualifications for UEFA Champions League. 1st round ŁKS has eliminated FC Kapaz Gandja but in 2nd round Manchester United was too good for our team. Since then there are more difficult times for ŁKS due to financial issues. Simply there is not enough money to fight for something more.
Worth to mention is also a fact that ŁKS has very good football school. Our team of boys born in 1998 is now also a part of this school. We are also a part of this club and we try to play as good as we can for ŁKS.
